Harley Quinn’s Suicide Squad Movie Arc Was Eviscerated

The director of Suicide Squad has said that Harley Quinn’s story arc in the movie was eviscerated. Written and directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad hit theaters in August 2016, during a time where the DCEU was still desperately trying to be a shared universe. It was universally panned by critics and audiences, despite it impressively grossing over $746 million worldwide. Many thought the film was a mess, with choppy editing and no real story for any of its characters. However, despite the criticism, Warner Bros. has a sequel (which is not really a sequel) for Suicide Squad coming out in 2021. And for all the criticism Ayer’s film receives, he did introduce one of the most popular DCEU characters - Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.
